The art market consists of a triangle of “Producer-mediator-buyer.” The foremost figure in what we define as the “buyer” is the collector. Art collectors contribute to the writing of art history through the art that they own; charged with this crucial duty and the accompanying set of responsibilities they enable their community to be enlightened and for the cultural-artistic assets to be passed on to the next generations.
Radi Dikici and Alpaslan Altuğ, contributing to the panel in which the importance of self-aware, self-conscious collectors for contemporary society is discussed, are significant collectors with their specific interest in Naci Kalmukoğlu, as well as their cumulative knowledge and archives and should be considered exemplary.
Rüştü Sungur, who will contribute to the panel as a speaker, is a two-way representative of the concept of art through his identities as gallerist, art dealer, aucitoner, and collector.
