NATURE, GARDENS, FANTASIES

07 September 2021 – 13 February 2022

The Nature, Gardens, Fantasies exhibition offers the opportunity to reconsider the relationship between art, nature, garden and humankind through works compiled from the Arkas Collection. The exhibition, which brings together the unique perspectives of significant artists from Turkey and abroad, selected from different fields of art such as painting, sculpture, decorative arts and textile art, reveals the evolution of artistic production from the 16th century to the 20th century.

The garden which is a form of nature art and a piece of nature designed by humankind as a space for living, appears in the exhibition in bohemian or structured forms, as the realm of myths, as a place of pleasure, or as a field of cultivation. By compiling the works produced in those periods when nature was not yet subjected to human destruction, the exhibition also aims to remind that humankind is a part of nature and can only exist with nature.
