ECHOES OF SILENCE
LIBRARIES AND OPERA PALACES WITH AHMET ERTUĞ PHOTOGRAPHS
15 September 2012 – 30 December 2012
Ahmet Ertuğ, who photographed historical libraries and opera palaces in various European countries, drags the audience inside the photograph with a hypnotic power and makes the visitors feel the silence and space of libraries and then the echo of music and wisdom hidden in the walls of such gorgeous places.
He transfers to the visitors through his photographs as to how the opera stars perceived the magnificent hall from the point where they stand in just the center of the stage and as to how the kings and queens viewed the opera stage from the honorary boxes located on the opposite side of such view.,
In the exhibition called the Echo of Silence consisting of 21 opera buildings and 23 historical library photographs, includes historical library buildings such as La Fenice in Venice, Opera Garnier in Paris, Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona and one of the popular libraries of Paris, namely Bibliothèque Nationale de France, and Palácio Nacional de Mafra in Lisbon, and Trinity College in Dublin.
