Arkas Art Center has been organizing exhibitions since 2011, with the value it gives to art and artists, and has hosted works with different techniques and styles, shedding light on different periods in each exhibition. The primary purpose is to inform the society, especially young people, to introduce them to art at a young age and to expand their imaginations by providing acquaintance of different cultures through the exhibitions. Weekend workshops and weekday school programs specially designed for children of different age groups give information about the works and artists in the current exhibitions.

SATURDAY CHILDREN WORKSHOPS

During the exhibition tour, the works and artists are introduced to the children between the ages of 5-7 and 8-10,  with an educational and entertaining program which is suitable for their age groups. In addition to the interpretion and recognition of artworks, the process is supported by question-answer dialogues and reciprocal commentaries with children. After the tour, workshops are held in parallel with the subjects covered by the exhibition. Workshops become an entertaining art journey for children where they explore art formations, art history, works of art, artists and museum in an interactive way by seeing and experiencing.

SCHOOL GROUPS

The educational programs prepared for Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle School and High school groups are carried out to support the bound between children and young people with the works exhibited, and to ensure the formation of museum awareness. The aim of this course is to introduce the artists and their works to different age groups while drawing attention to the materials used in the creation of the examined works and the periods in which the artist lived and to provide the students and young people to interpret the art work with awareness.
